Recipe Inspiration: The best thing about the morning is enjoying a delicious cup of English Breakfast tea. To take you morning tea to the next level, we have combined this popular drink with deliciously whipped vodka and hints of grenadine, creating a semi-sweet treat that is perfect for any time of day.
Serving Size: This recipe makes 2 – 4 ounce beverages to enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 1 heaping teaspoon Driftwood Tea Company loose English Breakfast tea or 1 English Breakfast tea bag (any English Breakfast tea can be used, however we recommend loose tea as it provides more of a robust flavor)
- 8 ounces hot water (boiling) for steeping tea
- 4 ounces whipped vodka (you can also substitute this for vanilla vodka if whipped is not available)
- 1 teaspoon Grenadine
- 1 cherry for garnish
Directions:
- Heat 8 ounces of water to boil, remove from heat, add English Breakfast tea bag (or 1 heaping teaspoon of English Breakfast tea) to hot water. Let steep for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, remove tea bag (or strain loose tea) and put in refrigerator to cool. (Approximately 1 hour).
- In a shaker, add the following ingredients:
- 4 ounces cooled English Breakfast tea
- 4 ounces whipped vodka
- 1 teaspoon grenadine
- Fill shaker with ice.
- Put lid on shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
- Strain liquid into a 4 ounce glass.
- Garnish with a cherry and enjoy.
