Chocolate Mint Creme

Chocolate Mint Crème Cocktail Recipe 


Inspiration:  This tea cocktail was born out of a love of chocolate and mint.  Like everyone’s favorite Girl Scout cookie, this cocktail combines the best of both these flavors for a creamy and delicious warm cocktail to be enjoyed all winter long.  This cocktail is best served whipped cream and chocolate drizzle


Food Pairing: This cocktail pairs lovely with chocolate torte cake.   


Serving Size – 3   6 oz serving  


Ingredients:

  • 2 Peppermint tea bags (Driftwood Tea Company’s Peppermint Willamette or your favorite brand)
  • If you prefer loose tea, use 1 tablespoon tea for 12 ounces of water (you want it slightly strong) 
  • 12 ounces of water, heated to 212 degrees F 
  • 6 ounces Crème de Cacao (2 ounces per glass) 
  • 3 ounces Irish-style Cream Liquor (1 ounce per glass) 
  • 3 glasses for drinking  


*Garnish (optional):

Whipped Topping (Reddi Whip or other spray whip cream) 

Liquid chocolate to drizzle   


Directions: 

  • Heat water to 212 degrees F. 
  • Pour 12 ounces of hot water into a large mug or other tea steeping vessel
  • Add 2 tea bags, and cover cup (you want to keep the tea as hot as possible).  

*If using loose tea, put tea into mesh steeper, stepper basket, French press, or whichever other vessel you choose to steep in.

  • Steep tea for 5 minutes (be sure to set a timer). 
  • Add 2 ounces Crème de Cacao to your drinking glass. 
  • Add 1 ounce Irish Crème to drinking glass, stir well. 
  • After 5 minutes, remove peppermint tea bags from water.  Dispose of tea bags. 
  • Add 3 ounces peppermint tea to your drinking glass, stir well.
  • Garnish with whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate.
